MySpace have launched a UK version of the popular 'MySpace Music' site today which will allow users to stream video and music for free. Its service is a competitor to the popular Last FM or Spotify which offers a similar music streaming service funded by playing adverts every few songs (although a subscription product removes the ads). In contrast, MySpace Music will only feature ads on screen and within music videos, which should offer a better experience to the user.

MySpace claim to have the most comprehensive catalogue including entire back catalogues of artists on both major and independent labels. The drive to offer more material available for free is a boost that the music industry needs to try and help stop piracy across popular P2P networks.
